The Central Library is a great source of information where the students and the faculty immerse themselves in the realm of knowledge. It has huge collection of Text and Reference Books, CD/DVDs, Journals, Magazines and Newspapers pertaining to varied subjects such as Engineering, Science and Humanities. The Library enables all users/readers to access the library collection through On-line Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). The Library premises are under surveillance through Closed Circuit Cameras for security purposes. Central Library provides Information Sources and Services to bibliographic, digital and printed resources to sustain the Information Needs of the Institute / Community.
To be an essential partner in the research, teaching and learning endeavors of the diverse community.

The Central Library Headed by Dr. N.Ravisankar Reddy , M.A, M.Li.Sc, Ph.D., Ph.D Awarded from Dravidian University, Kuppam. He has 15 Years of experience in the Library Science. He has published more than 18 articles published in peer reviewed journals, and 6 conference proceedings (both National and International) and 3 Book Chapter and 1 Book. He has participated in the professional workshops and the seminars. He is too enthusiastic to adopt innovative strategies and methods of technological approaches to provide quality of service in his respective field. His area of Interest includes user studies, ICT applications, Academic Libraries and Digital Libraries.
Objectives
College library fulfills the basic needs to support teaching, research and study requirements of the college. The objectives are:
- To give the students wider and deeper understanding of various branches of Technical disciplines.
- To prepare the students for higher responsibilities in the Government departments, Civil services, Business & MNCs and Industry.
- To train the students for the competitive examinations for Civil Services etc.
- To prepare the students for foreign studies through GRE, TOFEL, etc.
- To train them to gain more of enlightened knowledge and as responsible citizens.
- To provide a clear relation between the library and the faculty community and students.
- To set norms and standards for college library buildings and procure furniture, stationary, book collection, journal, & e- resources necessary for teaching and study purpose.
- To provide necessary methods for proper circulation of library books, to satisfy the needs of users.
- To provide necessary services like SDI (selective Dissemination of information) & CAS (Current Awareness Service) to satisfy the needs of users.
- To update and procure the relevant and recent Journals, useful Publications for faculty and student community.
- To facilitate and promote access to the fast growing and expanding collection of digital sources of primary and secondary information.
Services
The library provides both demanding and anticipatory library services to the users. The services provided are:
- Lending service: Books are issued to all students and faculty of the institute. The number of books issued are based on the category of the user. Students can keep the books for 14 days.
- Reference service: Reference service is provided for queries from the available reference sources.
- Current awareness service: This service is provided through the display of new books in new arrivals rack.
- Text Book Service: Important and prescribed text books are kept in the text book section and also these books are issued for reference against the library membership card.
- Photocopying service: Journal articles and other materials that are not lent out can be photocopied for a nominal charge using the reprographic facility available
- Inter library loan service: Books/journal articles that are not available in our library can be obtained from DELNET or other Online Services.
- CDROM service: Library also maintains the CD’s received along with the books. The users can get them copied.
- Newspaper service: Library subscribes 06 daily newspapers for the benefit of its users.
- Question paper service: Old Question papers of all the Engineering, M.Tech, MCA & MBA examinations conducted by our Institute will be made available in soft & hard copy formats.
- Internet service: All the reading halls of the central library are enabled and students can use their laptops in the reading halls for accessing the online documents subscribed by the library.

Infrastructure
- Networking: LAN is developed throughout Library with high speed LAN cable and connected to D-Link DES-1020 D1 switchboard with 20 ports.
- Protection: Configured Squid to protect Computer Servers to prevent the users in viewing unwanted sites monitor and regulate all incoming and outgoing internet traffic.
- Reprography Facility: A Stand alone Xerox machine has been detailed for performing reprographic facility work for the students and staff.
- Barcode Printer: Library has barcode printer with TSC TTP 244 Machine, with 2 Nos Ls 2208 Scanners with USB.

LIBRARY MEMBER SHIP
The teachers, students of the college can enroll them selves’ as members by filing application agreeing to abide by the rules.
Number of Books, Periodicals and other resources: The number of books a borrower can take and the period for which he/she can retain them is as follows:

LIBRARY TIMINGS
The Library Opens from 6.00 A.M to 10.00 P.M in all working days. (Works beyond normal working hours on demand from students).
LIBRARY USE
The library is primarily intended for the students and staff of the college who can make use of library collections. Facilities and service are in accordance with rules. Others can use the library only with the special permission of the library committee.
ACESS TO LIBRARY DOCUMENTS
The readers have access to books and periodicals which are on the open Shelves. Textbooks, Reference Books and dissertations can be consulted only in the assigned area.
SERVICES
Members are free to seek the assistance of Library Staff in selecting reading, digital materials, checking of references, searching of misplaced reading material etc.
OVER DUE CHARGES
Rs 2/- per book per day overdue charges are recovered for library material retained longer than the period of loan from all borrowers.
LOSS OF LIBRARY MATERIAL
Following charges are recovered from the borrowers for the loss on any library material.
- Books
- Double the Replacement / the current Price. The reader, however, is at liberty to replace the book within 15days.
- The cost of the complete set may have to be paid for the loss of a single volume if it is not available separately.
- Periodicals
- Single Issue of Periodicals: Replacement within one months or double the cost.
- Bound Volume of Periodicals: Replacement within one month or four times the cost of the volume.
THEFT/TEARING PAGES OF DOCUMENTS
In case of theft or tearing pages of the Library Books/Documents, the replacement charge must be charged10 times the cost of the document subject to a maximum of Rs3000/- or cost of the book whichever is higher and person involved can be debarred from his/her library facilities depending upon the seriousness of the offence.
GENERAL RULES
- Every member has to scan their Bar Coded ID cards in the entrance counter, before entering the central library.
- Students, ID card should be produced at the time of issue/return/renew of books etc.
- No reader is allowed to sleep in the library.
- Readers shall vacate their seats 10 minutes before the closing time of the library.
- Books on Special demand may be issued for shorter periods as decided by the Librarian.
- Books shall not be transferred by borrower to others.
- Identity Card is obligatory while visiting the Library. These cards must be produced on Demand by the Library staff.
- Students are required to surrender their borrowed documents to the circulation desk before leaving the Institute and only then they will be given ‘NO DUES CERTIFICATE’ from Library.
- Silence and order must be maintained at all times in and around the library.
- Mobile phones are not allowed inside the library.
- All Personal belongings should be kept outside the Library at a particular place assigned for the purpose except Note Books.
- The Librarian and Library staff is responsible for supervision and discipline in the library. They have the right to ask a person to leave the premises in case of misbehavior. In case of doubt, the Library staff can have a thorough search of Library user.
- Outsiders are allowed to visit the Library with prior written permission of the principal.
- The Latest borrower shall be responsible for any damage to the book/ periodical etc. Unless it has been pointed out at the time of issue.
- Books shall be recalled and their issue shall be suspended during the period of stock checking.

- Taking books out of the library without authorization, marking or underlining, or in anyway disfiguring and mutilating books, or library property is a misdemeanor, which may lead to withdrawal of library privileges, or in serious cases heavy fine and disciplinary action
- No reading material can be issued to a borrower not in possession of his or her library membership card, or if he or she is drawing books for others.
- Changes of address and designation should be immediately reported at the Circulation Counter of the Library.
- No library material borrowed may be got re-issued if it is not needed by another user. The borrower must get the Library reading material re-issued in person.
- No library reading material would be considered returned until it has been returned properly to the library personal at Circulation Counter.
- Violation of these rules of disciplined behavior in the Library will lead to cancellation of membership and disciplinary action.
SUGGESIONS
Members are free to recommend new books or Journals for the library and to suggest improvement in library services. Suggestions and recommendations, duly signed can be handed over to the librarian.
