Training And Placement Cell

The Training and Placement Cell (T&P Cell) of CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT), Hyderabad plays a pivotal role in shaping the professional careers of students by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry requirements. The cell is dedicated to enhancing students’ employability skills and facilitating placement opportunities with reputed organizations across various sectors.

The T&P Cell works systematically to provide career guidance, skill development, internships, and placement support, ensuring that students are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the competitive job market. Through continuous interaction with industry professionals, corporate organizations, and alumni, the cell ensures that students are exposed to current industry trends, technologies, and workplace expectations.

With a strong focus on technical training, soft skills development, aptitude enhancement, and personality development, the Placement Cell equips students with the competencies required for successful careers. It also supports students in pursuing higher education, entrepreneurship, and professional growth.

Objectives

  1. Enhance student employability through technical, aptitude, and soft-skills training aligned with industry needs.
  2. Facilitate campus placement opportunities by inviting reputed national and multinational companies.
  3. Bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements through industry interaction programs.
  4. Provide career guidance and counseling for employment, higher studies, and entrepreneurship.
  5. Promote internships and industrial training for practical exposure and experiential learning.
  6. Prepare students for recruitment processes through resume building, mock interviews, and group discussions.
  7. Establish and strengthen industry partnerships and institutional collaborations.
  8. Encourage continuous skill development in emerging technologies and professional domains.
  9. Support students in pursuing higher education and professional certifications.
  10. Achieve quality placements and contribute to the overall growth and reputation of the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate campus recruitment drives and placement activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with corporate organizations and industry partners.
  • Identify industry requirements and design training programs accordingly.
  • Organize aptitude, technical, soft skills, and personality development programs.
  • Provide career guidance, mentoring, and counseling to students.
  • Facilitate internships, industrial training, and live projects for students.
  • Coordinate pre-placement talks, written tests, interviews, and HR interactions.
  • Assist students in resume preparation, mock interviews, and group discussions.
  • Maintain student databases, placement records, and recruiter feedback.
  • Prepare annual placement reports and documentation for accreditation bodies.
  • Organize industry visits, expert lectures, workshops, and alumni interactions.
  • Support students in higher education, competitive examinations, and entrepreneurship.

Tasks

  • Assist students to develop and clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions.
  • Maintain and regularly update database of students. Maintain database of companies and establish strategic links for campus recruitments.
  • Gather information about job fairs and all relevant recruitment advertisements.
  • Coordinate with companies to learn about their requirements and recruitment procedures.
  • Identify the needs and expectations of the companies to assist them in recruiting the most suitable candidates.
  • Organize pre-placement training, workshops, and seminars for students.
  • Arrange periodic meetings with Human Resources Departments of companies and TPO’s to promote our institute.
  • Collect feedback from employers where our students are selected.
  • Assist students for industrial training at the end of fourth and sixth semester.
  • Assist employers to achieve their hiring goals.
  • Provide resources and activities to facilitate the career planning process.
  • Act as a link between students, alumni, and the employment community.
  • Assist students in obtaining placement in reputed companies.

Career Guidance

  1. Highlighting articles on departmental notice boards regarding Competitive & Industrial Career Opportunities.
  2. Inform students about the available job opportunities in government sectors and off-campus drives.
  3. Giving Motivational Talks.
  4. Conducting Psychometric Tests.

Training and Development

Keeping in view the industry requirements, the training curriculum is designed for preparing the students as entry level Graduate Engineer Trainees.
